1: Thanks
and Apologies in Japanese
Your response has
been submitted to speechactstrategies@gmail.com. Situation
4 The feeling that native speakers most
likely experience in this situation would be "major apology." They
probably feel
the need to apologize profusely here.
The apology is expressed by gomen(ne),
an informal expression appropriate for use with a close friend. Gomennasai
can also be used in a more distant relationship, but combined with the use
of gomen(ne) as it is here, it can
indicate a sincere apology. Below is the transcript of the dialogue. The parts in red are the apology expressions
you’ve been asked to write down. A:ごめーん、遅くなっちゃって。ほんとごめんなさい。 Gomen, osoku nachatte. Hontoni
gomennasai. B:ううん、いいよ、いいよ。
Uun, iiyo, iiyo. A:ほんとごめんね、忙しいのに。 Honto gomenne, isogashii noni. B:でもあと30分ぐらいしかないかな。
Demo ato 30 pun
