Unit 4: Using Video, Part B

Before You Watch:

Imagine you have a transcript of a couple of short movie scenes from a movie made in the language you teach. How might you use these transcripts in designing classroom activities?

While You Watch:

What is the value of the first task (the dinner table scene) for learners of Polish?

In the second scene, the learners work a lot on the transcript before viewing the scene. Do you agree with Bill that such a sequence is a valid option when working with video and audio materials? Why, or why not?

Answer Key to Activity One (PDF)

After You Watch:

What other activities can you think of for using the first scene (the dinner table)? What about for the second scene (in the cafe)?
